Panchnad Research Institute’s Jalandhar Study Centre orgnised seminar on Challenges Before Democracy in present times

PANCHNAD RESEARCH INSTITUTEJalandhar, November 29- A seminar on Challenges Before Democracy in present times was organized by Panchnad Research Institute’s Jalandhar Study Centre at DAVIET here today. Dr. Vinay Sahastrabudhe , the national Vice President BJP and Director General of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabhodini was the main speaker on the occasion.

Mr. Shastrabudhe spoke about the problems facing one of the largest democracies in the world , both from within and outside. He said that the spirit of nationalism is the need of the hour and exhorted all Indians to perform their duties. He added that Prime Minister, Mr. Narinder Modi , has undertaken the task of creating a resurgent India at grassroot level. The citizens must follow his lead to make the democracy stronger and shun the path of violence, sectarianism for a stronger nation which can become an example for the world. He also talked about lack of purpose in politics. He gave the example of Mahanagarpalika elections in Maharashtra and raised various other issues in politics like populism, corruption, reforms and need of public education. He felt that political reforms must be made a topic of public discourse. Responding to a question about the initiatives for positive change in democracy, he said that every citizen needs to take positive step on his own to make this country shine.

Earlier, Dr. Rajneesh Arora , Vice Chancellor , Punjab Technical University, gave the presidential remarks on the importance of the subject in today’s world. He disclosed   that Punjab Technical University was going to publish the Punjabi version of Pt. Deen Dyal Upadhyay’s complete works by March 2014.

Mr. Ashok Mittal , Vice Chancellor of Lovely Professional University was the Guest of Honour at the function. He said that Indian democracy has evolved over a period of 67 years or its independence and various changes have taken place since then. He also said that with the increasing young and educated voter base in India brighter days are being expected in Indian democracy.

Mr.Kamal Sharma, President BJP, Punjab, was the Chief Guest at the event. He said that the biggest problem facing our democracy was not from outside but from within. Some forces are bent upon weakening the country through scams, scandals which bring a black name to India. Integral Humanism is the way to bring the country back on track. Concluding the seminar, he stressed that continued efforts are the need of the time to bring positive changes in Indian democracy.

Dr. R.P. Bhardwaj, Sh Vikram Arora, Kankesh Gupta, Satish Kapoor, Vineet Sharma, Ajay Chopra, Vineet Mehta, Rakesh Kapoor, Ajay Trehan, Arvind Dhoomal, Mohit Sharma , Bhuvan Handa were also present on the occasion.
